Branch Manager 1 - Woodland Community Library
FVRLibraries is seeking a full-time Branch Manager 1 for our newly opened Woodland Community Library. This is an exciting opportunity to shape library services in a modern space designed to foster learning, collaboration, and community engagement. The stunning 7,560-square-foot facility opened in 2024 and features dedicated areas for teens, children, and adults, two study rooms, a staff workroom, an inviting outdoor courtyard, and a versatile community meeting space to be a central destination for lifelong learning and neighborhood connections.

The Branch Manager provides leadership and manages operations at Woodland Community Library. This includes a team of six employees comprised of a Senior Branch Supervisor, Senior Library Assistants and a Public Services Assistant. The position will provide a full range of patron assistance; support, plan and implement programs; and oversee the collections of the branch(s) and its outlets. The position will represent the branch(es) and library district in the assigned communities, building and sustaining positive community relationships.

Education & Experience
To be considered, applicants must have
Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program or ability to obtain a Washington State certification upon hire.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience, with customer service experience.
Two (2) to five (5) years of supervisory experience, with experience managing people and/or projects.
Schedule & Location
This position works five days per week at the district's Woodland Community Library in Woodland, WA. While the role is exempt from overtime, the exact hours may vary based on the demands of the position and business needs. Evening or weekend hours may be required to meet deadlines or support project requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
This position earns between $77,968.80 and $104,593.63 annually. To be considered for a starting salary above the pay grade minimum, candidates must exceed the minimum experience requirements listed above.
For employees promoted into this position, the starting wage shall be at least a 5% increase over the rate they received prior to the promotion or the start of the pay grade, whichever is greater, not to exceed the pay grade maximum. For more information please refer to the FVRL/AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement, Article 14.
We have an excellent benefit package. FVRLibraries covers 90-95% of full-time employees’ health insurance premium cost and 90-100% of dental insurance premium costs. In addition we provide employees with Life Insurance, AD&D and Long-Term Disability Insurance at no cost to the employee. Employees have the ability to enroll in additional, voluntary life insurance, income protection plans, flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.
Our employees enjoy 13 paid holidays throughout the year. Full time employees accrue 8 hours of sick leave per month. The initial vacation leave accrual is 11 hours per month; this increases over time based on years of employment. We also offer other types of paid time off for situations such as jury duty, bereavement leave, inclement weather and more.
