Position Summary

FVRLibraries is seeking a full-time Content Coordinator for our Operations Center in Vancouver, WA. The Content Coordinator develops, maintains and enhances engaging content across the library’s websites, social media channels, newsletters, blogs, and print materials. This role works closely with the Communications & Marketing Division (CMD) to ensure content is cohesive, accessible, and impactful and that messaging that resonates with the library's diverse audiences. The Content Coordinator is also responsible for managing content, coordinating translation services, incorporating photography into campaigns, and compiles analytics to refine strategies that align with the library’s mission and goals.

The essential functions of this position include:

  • Write, edit, and proofread content for various platforms, including website pages, newsletters, blogs, social media posts, flyers, posters, and brochures.
  • Adapt content to suit different audiences and channels, ensuring consistency with the library’s tone, voice, and values.
  • Collaborate with the CMD team to update and maintain content on the library’s website, ensuring information is accurate, engaging, and reflective of library services.
  • Ensure website content meets accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and incorporates SEO best practices.
  • Collaborate with the CMD team, including the graphics team, to conceptualize and align written and visual content, ensuring cohesive and compelling storytelling across digital and print materials.
  • Drive to library locations and events to capture high-quality photos in support of campaigns.
  • Work with the graphics department to integrate photography and visuals effectively into content.
  • Assist in coordinating translation services for multilingual content. This includes identifying content that needs translation, liaising with translators to ensure accuracy and cultural responsiveness, and overseeing the integration of translated content into the library's platforms, all in alignment with the library’s mission to serve diverse communities.
  • Monitor and report on content performance across platforms (e.g., website analytics, social media insights).
  • Compiles and analyzes content performance data, providing actionable insights and recommendations to inform division Coordinators and Directors in shaping strategy, improving audience engagement, and advancing library initiatives such as increasing program attendance and library card sign-ups.
  • Stay informed on digital storytelling, content marketing trends, and best practices for public sector communication.
  • Proactively develop new content formats or recommend strategies to increase audience engagement and program participation.
  • Support the management of content projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with the library’s broader communications goals.
  • Capture and produce live content for social media and other platforms to promote and support library events.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to streamline workflows and maintain quality.
  • Support the creation and management of digital ad campaigns to drive awareness, program attendance, and library card sign-ups.
  • Collaborate with the CMD team to integrate digital advertising efforts with broader marketing campaigns.

Education & Experience

To be considered, applicants must have

  • Associate’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

  • At least three years of experience in content creation and management for digital and print platforms, including writing, editing, and adapting content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with digital tools and best practices, such as SEO, Google Analytics, Google Ads, or CMS platforms.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge includes

  • Experience in photography and videography.

  • Experience editing content using HTML and CSS
  • Fluency in Spanish or Russian

Schedule & Location

This position works Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm at the district's Operations Center in Vancouver, WA. The final candidate will have the ability to choose the length of their lunch break and flex their schedule accordingly.

Compensation & Benefits

This position earns between $27.41/hr and $41.12/hr. To be considered for a starting salary above the pay grade minimum, candidates must exceed the minimum experience requirements listed above.

We have an excellent benefit package. FVRLibraries covers 90-95% of full-time employees’ health insurance premium cost and 90-100% of dental insurance premium costs. In addition we provide employees with Life Insurance, AD&D and Long-Term Disability Insurance at no cost to the employee. Employees have the ability to enroll in additional, voluntary life insurance, income protection plans, flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.

Our employees enjoy 13 paid holidays throughout the year. Full time employees accrue 8 hours of sick leave per month. The initial vacation leave accrual is 11 hours per month; this increases over time based on years of employment. We also offer other types of paid time off for situations such as jury duty, bereavement leave, inclement weather and more.
