A Day in the Life of a Performance Analyst
As a Performance Analyst, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely portfolio and composite performance results on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis, along with associated attribution reporting. Strong communication skills will be crucial for effectively collaborating with Portfolio Analysts on new reporting and marketing materials. Advanced analytical abilities will be essential for researching and resolving issues. Additionally, you will play a key role in the conversion to a new performance system, where you will be instrumental in loading and validating historic data and implementing new workflows to ensure a smooth transition.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the calculation and delivery of portfolio and composite performance on a daily basis.
- Review and distribute all equity and fixed income attribution data and reports to Portfolio Analysts and managers within FWIA.
- Work closely with Portfolio Analysts and Managers to research performance problems and assist in their analysis of performance returns and attribution.
- Work closely with Marketing to produce performance returns for marketing brochures, new client presentations, requests for proposals, consultant questionnaires, etc.
- Load and validate historic data and implement new workflows as part of a conversion to a new performance system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or commensurate work experience.
- Working knowledge or and prior experience with equity and fixed income investments, performance measurement and Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS).
- Excellent analytical ability and numerical skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to quickly gain working knowledge of Eagle PACE, FactSet, Bloomberg, PAM and possibly other software packages.
