Duties and Responsibilities
- Certified Law Enforcement Officer by the State of Indiana with full arrest powers.
- Maintains constant security oversight at the Terminal’s check point.
- Responds to Emergencies in or near the Terminal.
- Familiar with 1542 Regulations as it affects the check point.
- Performs vehicle inspections before entering the secured areas of the terminal ramp
- Support TSA at the check point with LEO functions.
- Support PSD with all emergencies as directed by the OIC
- Perform all Security functions in or at the terminal as directed by the OIC
- Maintains knowledge of Federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
- Detects safety hazards.
- Provide surveillance of terminal and provides general security of the terminal.
- Enforces Federal, State and local laws as a sworn Law Enforcement Officer under the Indiana Code.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to perform trauma first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac care;
- Ability to make instant decisions under emergency conditions affecting lives, safety and property of others.
- Ability to supervise other officers and to direct and coordinate all public safety officers in their duties.
- Ability to maintain effective working relations with other employees and the general public.
