PURPOSE
The Alumni Relations Consultant provides leadership and strategic direction for the establishment and growth of Alumni Relations at Elmhurst, Northrop, Snider, and Wayne High Schools. This role includes developing organizational structures, marketing strategies, and communication plans to engage alumni effectively.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
- Work Schedule: Year-round. This is a one (1) year temporary position, but could end before that time if the work is completed.
- Work Hours: Varies with flexibility required for alumni meetings. Up to 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFACTIONS
Any combination equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or similar degree. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to build relationships with various stakeholders. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Experience in event planning, grant writing, website and social media development, public speaking fundraising, marketing, budgeting and financial reporting. Valid drivers license for the state of Indiana is required. Ability to make decisions based on organizational policies with limited supervision. Familiarity with Donor Perfect or other donor databases is a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leadership and Direction: Provide leadership and strategic support for establishing Alumni Relations across multiple high schools.
- Bylaws Development: Develop bylaws for the newly created Alumni Relations organizations.
- Board Creation: Create a board of directors/officers for each Alumni Relations organization.
- Marketing and Communication: Develop a marketing and communication plan for all Alumni Relations, both existing and newly created.
- Website and Donations Platform: Develop a website, newsletter, and assist in creating a donations structure/platform for all Alumni Relations.
- Financial Management Structure: Establish a financial management system including bookkeeping and deposits.
- Database Management: Create a database management system for maintaining and updating donations and alumni data.
- Board Assistance: Assist the newly developed board in managing communications (emails, phone calls, requests).
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the Deputy Superintendent, Executive Director of Safety and Security, and building principals to determine an Alumni Relations office location.
- Enhance Existing Associations: Collaborate with existing alumni associations to enhance their operations.
- District-wide Council Development: Collaborate with all Alumni Relations organizations and Central Office Personnel to develop a district-wide council.
