Front Desk Medical Receptionist
Fort Wayne Primary Care is an innovative healthcare practice of high-quality, medically effective Primary Care medicine. Fort Wayne Primary Care utilizes a team consisting of a Nurse Practitioner, Medical Assistant(s), Certified IV Technician, and a front office staff. The offering of services at Fort Wayne Primary Care embodies a preventive approach to assist patients with chronic medical issues as well as basic health maintenance. Due to growing patient demand, Fort Wayne Primary Care is seeking to hire a Full Time Medical Receptionist, starting as Part-Time. Full-time will start approximately in June.
Front Desk Medical Receptionist Responsibilities:
The Medical Receptionist position includes greeting patients, patient check-in/out, scheduling appointments, answering phones, collecting co-payments or payments, insurance eligibility and updates, answering questions etc. Most importantly, this position will interact with other team members to collectively care for patients. The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a healthcare setting, with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
The ideal candidate must be equipped to manage a fast-paced environment and be flexible in their duties by being professional, patient, welcoming, the ability to multi-task and be self-motivated. Demonstrates the ability to handle patients who are unwell. A pleasant and warm personality is a must. A strong desire to learn, demonstrates punctuality and has a solid attendance record. This is a small team environment and requires an independent working atmosphere. Must have experience using EMR (2) and is technically savvy. Below is a brief summary of duties.
- Ensure the waiting area is neat, presentable.
- Greet and assist all patients in a professional manner
- Call insurance companies and obtain eligibility.
- Can resolve issues with patients who may be emotional.
- Monitor, organize and forward emails to the appropriate person.
- Maintain HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain records and files.
- Provide lab results/medical records upon patient request.
- Fax documents
- Punctuality and adhering to the Nurse Practitioner’s schedule
- Answer multiple phone lines.
- Previous use of EMR (2), for scheduling and assisting patients
- Monitor patients using Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy.
- Familiar with medical terminology.
- Able to take basic vital signs
No nights, weekends or after hours required.

Education:
· High School diploma
· 2- year Associate Degree, preferred
Experience:
- EMR: 1 years (Required)
