The dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are ready for use in the preparation and service of foodcleaning for our banquets and restaurants. Dishwashers will also help cooks prep for service.
Job Title: Dishwasher
Job Responsibilities:
Wash Dishes: Clean plates, glasses, utensils, and cookware using a dishwasher or by hand, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
Organize and Store Clean Items: Properly sort and store clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in designated areas.
Maintain Cleanliness: Keep dishwashing areas, kitchen floors, and surrounding areas clean and organized, including sweeping and mopping.
Follow Health & Safety Standards: Adhere to food safety regulations, ensuring dishes are cleaned to meet hygiene standards.
Assist Kitchen Staff: Support kitchen team members by cleaning and sanitizing work areas, utensils, and other kitchen tools as needed. May also be involved in prepping food.
Manage Dishwashing Equipment: Ensure dishwashing machines are functioning correctly, reporting any issues to the supervisor or maintenance staff.
Stock Supplies: Monitor the inventory of dishwashing detergents and supplies, restocking as needed.
Dispose of Trash: Remove waste and trash from the dishwashing area and dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.
Assist in Receiving Deliveries: In some cases, assist with receiving and storing kitchen supplies, ensuring that deliveries are properly stored.
Skills and Qualifications:
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
Attention to Detail: Ensure all dishes are clean, free of residue, and sanitized.
Team Player: Work collaboratively with kitchen and wait staff to ensure efficient operations.
Time Management: Ability to work quickly and efficiently, especially during peak hours.
Cleanliness: Must maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
Basic Knowledge of Equipment: Familiarity with dishwashing machines and cleaning supplies.
