The primary duty of the Host is to greet and seat the restaurant guest. The Host staff will set up the host stand and assign the stations to the servers. Record the table seating, the number of guests and keep a tally recorded for each server. Host staff controls the flow and organization of the dining room, to ensure the customers have a pleasant dining experience.
The Host staff -
- Welcomes customers and escorts to tables, following guidelines.
- Manages and maintains seating chart
- Interacts positively with customers.
- Answers customers questions and resolves any problems.
- Maintain neatness and presentability of work area to assist wait staff.
- Takes credit card payments for wait staff if necessary.
