Reports to: High and/or Middle School Coach
Work hours and expectations:
On/off-campus responsibilities from 2:00 pm until 6:30 pm Monday through Friday. Coaching responsibilities may result in extended weekday or weekend commitments, depending on evening games and playoffs. All coaches are employed on a seasonal basis and continued employment is based on annual performance reviews conducted by the Athletic Director.
Primary responsibilities:
Working closely with the Athletic Department, the Middle School Coach of Volleyball is responsible for initiating various aspects of the Volleyball program, such as program development, training, and working with team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Fort Worth Christian and follow the mission and vision of FWC. FWC is a member of TAPPS.
Required knowledge, skills, and experience:

Bachelor’s degree optional;

Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Fort Worth Christian;

A solid commitment to the student-athlete concept;

3-5 years of Coaching or playing experience preferred;

Effective leadership and coaching skills;

Excellent communication skills with players, parents, and the athletic department;

Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a school vehicle or mini-bus.
Specific responsibilities:

Encourage, train, and coach the participants of the volleyball program (Grades 6-8);

Coordinate the development and promotion of the volleyball program (Grades 6-8) in conjunction with the mission of the school;

Organize practice sessions;

Must maintain a safe practice environment;

Represent Fort Worth Christian and the volleyball program in a professional manner and within the bounds of our code of conduct, athletics handbook, and good sportsmanship;
This is a seasonal position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the season

- Christ-follower first and foremost
- Committed to living and teaching a life of service to Christ in accordance with the FWC Statement of Faith and Beliefs
- College degree (if full-time); experience commensurate with this position
- Having a CDL is a plus, but not required
