Fort Worth Miscellaneous Fab is a fast growing company that produces critical steel fabricated assemblies for construction and structural steel companies to use in building schools, commercial, and government buildings around the nation. We are looking for skilled and dynamic employees to help push the limits on what we can fabricate for our customers. We commonly produce components like stairs, railings, steel components for concrete work, and other highly used building components.
We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Machine operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating our Mazak CNC Fiber Laser to produce precision parts and components while ensuring high levels of quality and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Set up and operate Mazak laser machine and other CNC machines, including press brakes, shears, to produce parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) requirements.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Assist maintenance department with routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members on the assembly line to meet production goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the machining process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
Skills
- Experience with a fiber laser machine required.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with assembly line operations and workflows.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely within the manufacturing facility.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must possess basic math skills, be able to calculate measurements in inches and fractions, and calculate bend degrees when needed.
