JOB TITLE : Coordinator of Recruitment and Retention

REPORTS TO : Chief Human Resources Officer

POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY The Human Resources Coordinator for Recruitment and Retention is responsible for providing leadership, advocacy, and vision to support the recruitment and retention efforts of the Fort Zumwalt School District with the goal of identifying, attracting, and retaining high quality permanent and substitute staff members.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS The Coordinator for Recruitment and Retention will have at minimum a Bachelor's degree in education, human resources, marketing, or a related field. Possession of, or ability to obtain Professional Human Capital Leader in Education (pHCLE) certification, Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification preferred. The position will require an outgoing, friendly, and engaging individual who enjoys interacting with others and has strong organizational, verbal, digital, and written communication skills. Other qualifications acceptable as deemed appropriate by the Board of Education.

SUPERVISORY OR BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES The Coordinator will be responsible for recommending and monitoring budgetary allocations and expenditures related to recruitment and retention activities consistent with district financial practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Develop recruitment and retention goals and strategies based on District needs and current data

2. Stay abreast of trends and best practices for employee recruitment and retention

3. Design recruitment materials, both digitally and in print format, for dissemination

4. Promote District openings through third-party vendors (MOREAP, Indeed)

5. Promote the culture through the creation of branded materials and content for social media to facilitate recruitment and retention

6. Coordinate with the Director of Communications to maintain an active social media presence specific to Human Resources objectives

7. Become familiar with DESE pathways to certification and serve as a resource for employees and prospective employees

8. Provide support to new educators, paraprofessionals, and other employee categories through the development and implementation of effective mentor programs

9. Contribute to the maintenance and development of the human resources department web page

10. Build talent pipelines for support and certified positions of need to include a diverse candidate pool

11. Track and analyze employee retention data

12. Coordinate recruitment events with university, technical school, trade school and other workforce partnerships

13. Provide an annual impact report detailing activities to the employee's immediate supervisor

14. Plan and execute District job fairs for certified and support staff

15. Coordinate for District representation at local, regional, and out-of-area job fairs as assigned

16. Plan and execute, minimally, bi-annual seminars for district student teachers as a means to recruit qualified teachers

17. Assist with new hire orientations

18. Create, maintain, publish, and provide for systematic and regular review of District job descriptions

19. Develop and maintain professional relationships with college, university, and community college placement offices, teacher preparation programs, and various agencies that assist in providing applicants to the District

20. Lead the development and implementation of regular employee recognition programs 21. Research and share best practices with building and department leads regarding employee retention

22. Administer, analyze, and recommend actions related to employee new hire surveys, stay interviews, and exit surveys

23. Seek creative and alternative solutions to the District's recruitment and retention issues 24. Exhibit proficiency in a variety of electronic software systems and applications for the creation of materials and other work-related tasks

25. Provide additional support for the Human Resources department staff as needed and / or assigned for the purpose of assisting in the performance of their work activities and goals

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

1. Assist building and department leaders in the identification of candidates for hard-to-fill positions

2. Understand negotiated agreements, employee handbooks, policies and procedures and be able to explain them to key stakeholders

3. Serve as a backup to the Director of Communications for writing and dissemination of messaging to the school community during crisis or other emergencies

4. Perform other related duties as assigned

MENTAL DEMANDS Ability to maintain confidentiality; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and / or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize duties within a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with clients at all levels. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to learn new systems and procedures as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Able to move in and around district buildings and campus locations. Ability to set up and break down displays and assist in set up and break down for job fairs to include pulling and pulling, carrying, lifting, and fine-finger dexterity. Sitting, walking, standing, and driving are required. Speaking, hearing, and reading are regular requirements.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Typical office or department conditions; may be exposed to heat or cold as required to travel throughout the district. Occasional travel outside of the area may be required for job fairs and recruiting events. Regular, in-person attendance and punctuality are required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Employment will be for 12 months with four weeks vacation, beginning July 1 or from the time of employment for the duration of the school year with prorated vacation and / or personal leave. The Coordinator will be provided a work calendar showing the specific daily work schedule. The work calendar may be modified by the Board of Education at any time, as needs dictate. Eight hours will generally constitute a workday. Evening and weekend hours may be required in order to accomplish recruitment and retention tasks and goals. The yearly salary will be disbursed in twenty-four (24) equal payments.

EVALUATION Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy of support staff personnel.
