We seek an experienced Exchange and O365 Administrator/Systems Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 environments, both on-premise and cloud-based. The ideal candidate will ensure email and collaboration systems' availability, performance, and security while providing technical leadership and guidance to junior administrators.
This is an onsite position in Baltimore, Maryland, and requires night, weekend, and bi-monthly on-call availability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, Implement, and Manage:
- Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Azure solutions, including compute, storage, network, and security services.
- Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD), including users, groups, service accounts, apps, and permissions.
Monitor and Troubleshoot:
- Proactively monitor system performance and resolve complex issues related to Exchange and Office 365.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Exchange and Office 365 environments
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs), ensuring SLAs are met and high-quality services are delivered.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior administrators and engineers.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for the use and management of Exchange and Office 365 environments.
Compliance and Security:
- Configure systems to meet compliance and security requirements in collaboration with internal teams.
Documentation:
- Produce internal documentation, including diagrams, how-to guides, and configuration documentation.
Stay Updated:
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and related technologies.
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of technical experience in installation, upgrades, and maintenance of server and network support systems.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 environments.
- Proven experience in managing relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
- Strong background in Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) and Azure solutions.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and related technologies.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Azure subscriptions and capacity.
- Strong understanding of compliance and security best practices.
