Senior Data Engineer - USC/GC - PST - CA Preferably

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with 3-5 years of experience specializing in data analysis, writing queries, query optimization, reporting, and data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MongoDB, MySQL, and SQL, coupled with experience in AWS RDS and tools like Jira, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining optimized, highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting by the Data and Analytics team & support business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Develop and execute complex queries in MongoDB, MySQL, and SQL to analyze and extract meaningful insights from datasets.
• Create and maintain reporting solutions that support business needs, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights through dashboards or reports.
• Support ad-hoc analysis by providing timely and efficient query solutions to business teams.
• Leverage AWS services, such as RDS and S3, to support data integration and reporting workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues to ensure smooth operations.

2. Data Quality and Security:

• Maintain data security and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Proactively identify and resolve data-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Implement data validation and cleaning processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.

3. Jira and Workflow Management:

• Track and manage tasks and issues using Jira, ensuring all data-related requests and projects are completed efficiently.
• Document and maintain workflows in Jira, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders and team members.

4. Collaboration and Documentation:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that align with business goals.
• Create and maintain documentation for data processes, queries, and reporting workflows.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role with a focus on data analysis and reporting.
• Strong proficiency in MongoDB, MySQL, and SQL for query design and optimization & Hands-on experience with AWS RDS and related AWS services.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights.
• Reporting Skills: Experience creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and visualization tools.
• Proficiency with Jira for task and workflow management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to present findings effectively to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Python or similar programming languages for advanced data manipulation.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and task-tracking tools.
• Familiarity with reporting tools.
