What are the responsibilities and job description for the Local Representative position at Forte International?
Company Description
Public diplomacy is at the core of the J-1 Visa exchange program. Our students learn about American culture, customs and ideals while living with American host families and attending high school. Host families in return learn about the customs, culture and ideals of the students they host. FIEA has close partnerships with overseas agents that carefully screen and select students with the appropriate age, background, English language skills and attitude for participating in the international exchange program, while American host families are screened through a process that includes a criminal background check, home inspection and host family interview.
Job Description
1. Recruit host families.
2. Interview and evaluate each prospective host family before student placements are
finalized.
3. Organize pre arrival and post arrival orientations for students and host families.
4. Contact the school and handle the necessary enrollment paperwork.
5. Act as a liaison between the school, the student, the host family and Forte
International’s National Office.
6. Help the students and host families handle cultural differences and culture shock.
7. Help the student and/or host family in an emergency situation.
8. Maintain frequent contact with the student, host family, and school.
9. Maintain open lines of communication with your area director and other Forte staff,
as needed
