Job Summary
The Legal Office Assistant will provide administrative and legal office support to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of our law firm. Responsibilities
- Perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage front desk operations, greeting visitors and directing them appropriately.
- Answer phone calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Utilize all Microsoft office suite products for document creation, scheduling, and communication.
- Organize and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical.
- Assist with appointment scheduling and calendar management.
- Support team members with administrative tasks as needed.
- Ensure the office is well-organized and equipped for daily operations.
Skills
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience using Clio legal software a plus.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain office efficiency.
- Previous experience as a law firm office assistant is a plus but not required.
- Ability to type efficiently and accurately.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- A professional demeanor with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Familiarity with special education law or advocacy is a plus but not required.
- Paralegal certification a plus, or ability to obtain certification strongly preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience working as a legal office assistant preferred.
