OVERVIEW:
An Assembler II is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations throughout the door manufacturing process. Their duties include loading and unloading doors or raw materials, assembling, crafting, and correct movement of doors throughout the manufacturing process. Assembler II’s are cooperative and willing to apply their skills in a variety of venues by regularly rotating positions to achieve success.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contributes to and fosters a safe work environment by upholding all safety rules and procedures, asking questions when unsure, and embracing our Target Zero philosophy.
- Reads, understands, and follows production schedules ensuring the right product is manufactured at the right time and at the right place.
- Following production job orders and schematics, this position adjusts/sets equipment parameters and ensures applicable parameters are achieved.
- Gathers materials as needed based on established production schedules to ensure a continuous and efficient door crafting process.
- Performs quality checks throughout the production process, ensuring manufacturing specifications are achieved.
- Communicates professionally and effectively to support product flow through plant.
- Willingness to train more junior staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Employee is responsible for the assembly of doors.
- Build all types of doors with the correct specifications to the customer’s request.
- Work while keeping in mind a high level of quality, safety, and productivity.
- Read and Interpret Production paper-work.
- Measure, cut and assemble (at times run radial arm saw)
- Help pin the fire doors at times.
- Safely assemble door frames using pneumatic and manual tools while working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring correct components are used.
- As time allows, light clean up in the work area.
- Scrapers and Rubber mallet to fit pieces together.
- All finishing touches of the door, including placement of glass into the doors; cutting trim; Important to note tempered glass cannot be cut (95%) firelight can be cut.
- Operation of the Heesemann Sanding Machine. Work with cranes. Run whole doors through the sander, se-up of Heesemann machine with precision. (Fire Door 300 lbs). Vacuum lifter on crane. Load panels manually at times 50 lbs. range. Apply stains (Pat).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- Use a computer to read order specifications, update databases, and retrieve/update data as required.
- Able to accurately take measurements using a tape measure and calipers.
- Use hand tools and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Must possess basic reading and writing skills.
- Must be able to add & subtract fractions and whole numbers and convert fractions to decimals.
- Ability to read, follow, and understand work instructions from both written and verbal sources.
- Ability to diagnose and complete small repairs on wooden doors.
- Ability to read, follow, and understand work instructions.
- Ability to do small repairs on doors as needed.
- A High School Diploma or GED certificate
- Two - three year of prior manufacturing experience (preferred)
