The Truck Driver will work in a high-performance work organization on a cross functional team that utilizes his/her ability to work within a team environment. Truck Drivers need to be cooperative and willing to apply their skills on a regular basis to make the team successful.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work safely and follow safety rules and procedures
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• Drives a tractor-trailer truck to transport cargo to and from destinations (main plant and offsite warehouse)
• Inspect the truck pre- and post-trip
• Monitor and maintain maintenance on the truck
• Assist with and/or oversee the loading and unloading of the trailer
• Verify loads for accuracy and deliver as instructed
• Set up and adjust equipment as needed
• Gather materials as needed
• Follows applicable DOT guidelines in reference to physicals, drug tests, certifications, etc.
• Communicate effectively for flow of product between the plant and warehouse
• Maintain DOT records and logs for cargo weight, drive times, and mileage
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

• Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, general driving

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Lift 1-30# frequently (up to 50% in a 10-hour day)
• Lift 30-60# regularly (up to 30% in a 10-hour day)
• Lift 60 # occasionally (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)
• Kneel, squat, and stoop occasionally (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)
• Work with extended arms seldom (up to 13% in a 10-hour day)
• Sitting and driving for extended periods
• Climbing in and out of a tractor trailer truck
• Good Vision
• At least 21 years of age
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• A High School Diploma or GED certificate
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and appropriate endorsements
• 6 months OTR experience (preferred)
