What are the responsibilities and job description for the Actuarial Analyst position at Fortegra?
Fortegra is seeking a talented and dedicated actuary with loss reserving experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your reserving expertise to various lines of business (including both property and liability) while broadening your skill set through diverse projects. Additionally, this role's main focus will be reserving and actuarial reporting, with numerous opportunities to contribute to other actuarial functions including pricing, data analytics, Statutory reporting, reinsurance, and more.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of actuarial experience in Property & Casualty insurance products.
- 2–4 actuarial exams completed, with a commitment to pursuing CAS designation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Knowledge of SQL or other programming languages is preferred.
- A proactive, creative approach to problem-solving.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex results to diverse audiences.
Primary Job Functions:
- Perform quarterly loss reserve analyses for various lines of business
- Monitor reserve adequacy by LOB as well as by program. Recommend reserve strengthening/weakening to Finance
- Perform semiannual long duration unearned premium reserve analysis
- Enhance quarterly data collection and reporting processes used by Actuarial to present findings to key stakeholders including Underwriting, Claims, and Management.
- Assist pricing team with various requests including due diligence work on prospective programs as well as deep dives into existing programs
- Assist with yearend Statutory Reporting requirements including preparation of Schedule P.
