Sr. Manager of Software Engineering

Job responsibilities

• Build a very highly performant self governing team of very talented engineers.
• Partner with the product team to create and deliver on a roadmap which aligns with customer needs and competitive strategy.
• Function as a catalyst for change to improve processes and practices to expedite execution. Have a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
• Provide leadership and direction for innovative improvements in the Cloud Security Posture Management.
• Understand the company's vision and develop a strategy for the team to reach its short-term and long-term goals.
• Report on the status and roadmap to senior management
• Serve as an escalation path for the team

Your Professional Profile:

• 10 years of work experience, including 3 years of proven hands-on technical management experience.
• Experience recruiting, building, and leading technical teams, including performance management.
• Experience leading large programs involving internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working remotely across many time zones and cultures.
• Experience making risk management trade offs involving complex technical issues intersecting with business needs.
• Experience working cross functionally to prioritize and refine short term and long term roadmap.
• Experience creating robust and reliable CI/CD pipelines at scale from grounds up and/or making major improvements is a must.
• Past development background in one of system programming or distributed programming or fullstck.

In depth knowledge of AWS and other major cloud providers (e.g. Azure, GCP) is a plus.

This job opening is available to candidates in both the US and Canada.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000-$220,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion.

For Canada:

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $155,000-$210,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
