Dental Assistant Instructor

This is a part-time, professional position reporting to the Program Director and/or the Dean of Education. The primary responsibility will be to teach core dental assisting courses. The typical teaching load is two courses each term, with one or two preparations. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, and participate in department training, meetings and graduation.
The Instructor provides updated and fully prepared instruction to students, actively engages in retention activities and manages the classroom/lab activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaches courses as assigned by the Academic Dean.
- Utilizes unit and daily lesson plans.
- Maintains laboratory and classroom organization and cleanliness.
- Actively engages in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress.
- Records and maintains accurate student attendance and grade records.
- Completes midterm evaluations for each student halfway through the term.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Team player who demonstrates initiative, dependability and reliability
Schedule:
· No nights
· No weekends
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
