Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach courses in our Medical Assisting program. This is a part-time, professional position reporting directly to the Program Director. The primary responsibility will be to teach Medical Assisting courses. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, assist the program director and participate in department training, meetings and graduation.
Requirements
- Diploma or certificate of completion in Medical Assisting required, associate degree preferred
- Certification:
- RMA, CMA, or NCMA required
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - CCMA
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant - CMAA
- International Medical Assistant - IMA
- Specialty Certified MA - SCMA
- Women's Health - SCMA-WH
- Obstetrics & Gynecology - SCMA-OBG
- Pediatrics - SCMA-PD
- Internal Medicine - SCMA-FM
- Geriatrics - SCMA-G
- Endocrinology - SCMA-END
- Cardiology - SCMA-CD
- Dermatology - SCMA-D
- Urology - SCMA-U
- Oncology - SCMA-ON
- Transplant Surgery - SCMA-TTS
- Orthopedic Surgery - SCMA-ORS
- At least three year of experience in a clinical setting as a Medical Assisting
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, motivated and results driven
- Prior higher education teaching experience preferred, but not required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
