Fortis College is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic leader to manage the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) program. This is a full-time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean of Education. As the leader of the program, the HVAC Director is responsible for managing the department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures. This position requires evening hours.
The HVAC Director teaches in his / her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), and is the lead administrator for the department. As such, he / she is responsible for faculty training and development, coordinating and administering the academic program(s), and student outcomes and activities within the department.
Requirements
- Documented expertise in Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) as demonstrated by data sheets, diplomas, transcripts, certifications, and / or résumés.
- Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation / written communication skills.
- Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
- Minimum of 4 years of HVAC industry experience.
- Prior postsecondary related teaching experience is preferred.
- Completion of an HVAC educational program is preferred.
- EPA certification is required.
