What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty - HVAC/R position at Fortis Colleges and Institutes?
Position Summary : Adjunct faculty members perform a number of roles and functions, each of which reflects the core competencies of their discipline. Those competencies include the following : 1) facilitate learning, 2) facilitate learner development and socialization, 3) use assessment and evaluation strategies, 4) function as a change agent and leader, 5) pursue continuous quality improvement in the educator role, and 6) function within the educational infrastructure, mission, and policies of the College.
Skills / Competencies / Qualifications :
- Certification in HVAC / R and EPA
- At least three years of experience in the field of HVAC / R
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Must agree to a background check and drug screen
- Ability to maintain rapport with colleagues and students and to conduct themselves with a high level of professionalism
- Documented knowledge of education, instructional delivery, adult learning required
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing and through learning technologies such as computers and e-mails
- Ability to work with staff, faculty, students and the Academic Leadership Team
- A commitment to teaching and helping students develop an abiding interest in education and a desire to help the college maintain the standards appropriate to an institution
