Job Description
Fortis College is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic leader to manage the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) program. This is a full time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean of Education. As the leader of the program, the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) Director is responsible for managing the department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation and company policies and procedures. This position requires evening hours.
The Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) Director teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), is the lead administrator for the department, and, as such, is responsible for faculty training and development, coordinating and administering the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department.
Requirements
- Documented expertise in Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) as demonstrated by data sheets, diplomas, transcripts, certifications and/or résumés.
- Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills.
- Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
- Minimum of 4 years of Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) industry experience.
- Prior management experience is preferred.
- Prior postsecondary related teaching experience is preferred.
- Completion of an HVAC educational program is preferred.
- EPA certification is required
