Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic PT faculty member to teach Medical Assisting and Medical Billing in the Residential portion of our Hybrid Program on campus with availability in both day and evening. This is a part-time, professional position reporting directly to the Program Director. The primary responsibility will be to teach Medical Assisting courses with Clinical Competencies as well as occasional administrative and / or billing competencies. The typical teaching load is 1-3 courses each term and may include 2-4 days per week and / or 2-4 nights per week. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising / tutoring to students, assist the program director and participate in department training, meetings and graduation.
- Diploma / Degree required in Medical Assisting and / or other related Allied Health Discipline
- National Certification in Medical Assisting and / or other comparable Allied Health Credentialing
- At least three years of experience in the field of Medical Assisting / Allied Health
- Proficiency in Clinical Competencies including, but not limited to, EKG, Phlebotomy and Injections
- Proficiency in EHR and / or simulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer / tech skills
- Highly organized, motivated and results driven
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Bilingual Spanish Preferred but not required
- Experience using Canvas LMS is preferred but not required
