Currently we have a position open in our Boynton Beach location, LifeSafety Management, for an experienced Fire Alarm Installer. The Fire Alarm Installer is responsible for installing and configuring fire alarm systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure fire alarm systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal placement and wiring routes for devices.
  • Mount and wire control panels, detectors, annunciators, and other system components.
  • Program and test fire alarm control panels and devices to ensure proper functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project deadlines.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and industry regulations throughout the installation process.
  • Document installation activities, including deviations from plans and as-built drawings.
  • Provide training to end-users on system operation and maintenance procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) installing fire alarm systems, preferably with Notifier Certification.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm control panels (e.g., Notifier, Simplex, Siemens) and associated devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems independently.
  • Knowledge of relevant NFPA and NEC codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 72).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure to meet project deadlines with overtime if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Schooling beyond high school in a technical field
  • Certification(s) in fire alarm installation (e.g., NICET Level II or higher) preferred.

Compensation:

$24.00-$35.00 hr. depending on experience

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The Team member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance. The Team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
