Human Resources Assistant
Fortis Industries LLC is interviewing for a full-time Human Resources Assistant to work in our corporate office in Huntsville, AL. As a Human Resources Assistant, you will be involved with all programs and services that relate to our company’s Human Resources department.
The HR Assistant duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Processing new hire paperwork
- Ordering and tracking background checks and drug screens
- Assisting employees with logging into the timekeeping and payroll systems
- Processing terminations
- Setting up new contract information in payroll system
- Benefit enrollments
- Tracking personnel actions
- Date entry
- Setting up and maintaining personnel files
- Answering employee questions
- Assisting payroll with pay issues
- Serving as a point of contact for employee inquiries
- Preparing HR reports as required
- Performing general administrative duties as necessary
Job Requirements:
- Must be proficient in the operations of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Must have at least a High school diploma / GED or equivalent
- Must have at least 2 years of HR experience
- Must be experienced in performing routine record keeping functions with attention to detail
- Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and reach resolution in a timely manner
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally
- Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner and skillfully gather and analyze information
- Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently
- Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and be able to monitor work for quality
- Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, and respond to management direction and feedback
- Experience with Collective Bargaining Unit and Service Contract Act employees is preferred
Salary and Benefits:
- $19.00 - $21.00 per hour DOE
- Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Supplemental Insurances available
- 11 Holidays, 10 days of Vacation accrued per pay period, 8 days of Sick/Personal Leave
