What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental/Safety Coordinator position at Fortis Native Group LLC?
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for proper storage and labeling of hazardous waste in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Train employees that are assigned to support the IFR on the FLETC Hazardous Waste Management Plan to ensure hazardous waste conformance with S.C. DHEC and EPA laws and regulations.
- Responsible for compliance with Federal, State, and local requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Hazardous Waste Program requirements (including hazardous waste handling, storage, manifesting, and disposal).
- Implement the Environmental Protection Plan; ensure that all environmental requirements are obtained, maintained, and closed out; ensure compliance with Storm Water Program Management requirements; ensure compliance with Hazardous Materials (storage, handling, and reporting) requirements; and coordinate any remediation of regulated substance
- Manage the safety program.
- Create a safety plan that shall includes, but not be limited to,; organization, methodology, medical surveillance/clearance, employee injuries, motor vehicle safety, lead safety, hazardous noise, heat stress, and hazardous material (to include all provisions/codes addressed in 29 CFR 1910).
Qualifications
- Will have a minimum of two years’ years experience in identifying, classifying, handling, labeling, marking, storing, and selecting packaging for hazardous waste. He or she shall have completed training in hazardous waste management as required by 40 CFR 265.16 no later than a year after employment with the contractor and shall maintain this training annually thereafter.
