Assistant Machine Operator
We are looking for skilled packaging assistants to help Machine Operators to set up, maintain and operate machinery. You will ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. We are looking for reliable, and attentive team members. On-the-job training will be offered to elevate your skills therefor a willingness to learn and improve oneself is essential. Being a team player is required since all tasks will entail a close collaboration with colleagues. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly maximizing efficiency while maintaining a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Assistants are responsible for activities on their machine for their shift.
- Assist in setting up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Control and adjust machine settings (i.e., speed, temperature, air pressure.)
- Feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools for quality standards.
- Produce orders to schedule, to satisfy customer needs and production requirements.
- Be aware of all functions while machine is operating.
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
- Correctly label and bag finished products.
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
- Keep records of approved and defective units of final products.
- Maintain activity logs.
- Other tasks and duties may be assigned. Responsibilities will not be limited to the above.
Skills
- Proven experience working in a warehouse/plant
- Knowledge of process equipment, tooling and procedures in order to set up, operate, and maintain equipment work area in a safe, productive manner.
- Understanding of production procedures and preventative maintenance.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (i.e., continuous use of protective gear)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Ability to work efficiently, and effectively both independently, and collaboratively.

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
- Able to work seasonal overtime hours or weekends when needed.
Qualifications: Assistant Machine Operators need to have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. They will need to demonstrate mechanical aptitude and understand safety documentation.
Position Type: This is a full time position, a 40 hour work week, with possible overtime.
Work Environment: Staff must wear all appropriate protective equipment (PPE) to include cut gloves at a minimum. They will be working in a production facility that is not air-conditioned, temperatures may seasonally exceed 90 degrees. Assistants need to be flexible in their work assignments and able to stand for 8 ½ hours.
Work Year: The work calendar is based on a 5 day work week, 8 hour a day work schedule, with the exception of planned holiday and vacation days.
