Be a part of our 9-week Internship Development Program, where you will have the opportunity to apply knowledge gained through your college courses. Becoming a Treasury Intern is a great way to enhance your business acumen and gain insight into our industry. Interns are placed into meaningful roles that have an immediate and integral impact on the business. The internship will be based in our Jersey City, NJ office and will run from June 2, 2025, through August 1, 2025. You must be available for all 9 weeks of the program.
Fortitude Re is an international composite reinsurer in an active growth phase. We have added new domestic companies, holding companies, as well as multiple trust account structures in support of new reinsurance transactions. The Treasury team is responsible for managing daily cash and derivatives operations for the Fortitude Re group of companies. This intern will join a dynamic team-oriented Treasury group and work closely with the broader Finance team as well as Investments team.
What You Will Do:
- Assist the head of derivatives collateral with daily margin calls, trade capture and trade reporting.
- Assist the head of Treasury Management Systems (TMS) with SAP TMS testing and documentation.
- In collaboration with Investment Operations and Treasury teams, assist in managing state deposit requirements and pledges.
- Evaluate market rate changes and potential impact on hedges and other collateralized positions.
- Produce short-term cash and investments portfolio reporting and cash flow forecasting.
- As necessary, coordinate with the Treasury head of borrowing programs to execute repo and FHLB secured borrowings on a committed and uncommitted basis to add sources of liquidity.
- Perform bank account administration functions to support data capture.
- Assist Treasury team with risk and control assessments and implementing improvements as identified.
- Assist in maintaining, updating, and standardizing all Treasury related documentation, (operations procedures, outstanding agreements, banking policies)
What You Will Have:
- Rising college senior pursing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or investments
- Planning to obtain CTP, CPA or CFA; CTP viewed positively and would be supported by the team.
- Ability to work collaboratively in-person and from remote locations.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Willingness to express ideas and participate in problem solving.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
