The VP, Investments Operations role is responsible for day-to-day support of the Investment portfolios such as overseeing cash and asset transfers, trade settlements, subscription processes for alternative investments, KYC/AML, on-boarding of new asset managers/reinsurance deals, etc. The role also manages the Investments Data Warehouse, ensures data integrity and quality through robust reconciliation processes, validation of investment data across internal and external systems, and develops operational procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. Additionally, this role establishes KPIs, monitors asset manager data, and leverages automation tools to improve processes. The position also handles audit requests, ensures portfolio compliance to investment guidelines, and serves as the main point of contact between internal and external stakeholders. This role will be aligned to our Jersey City, NJ office on a hybrid basis.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and manage complex investment operational projects, supporting mandates such as securitizations, inter-company transactions, etc.
- Execute the operational implementation of new reinsurance transactions, including cash and asset transfer coordination, connectivity between asset managers/custodians/internal systems, portfolio creation, initial load of assets, etc.
- Manage the cash and security transfer processes, including funding capital calls for alternative investments.
- Supervise the trade settlement process for internal private credit transactions, ensuring coordination between asset managers and custodians for timely and accurate settlements.
- Oversee the subscription process for alternative investments, ensuring proper execution and completion of KYC/AML documentation and subscription forms.
- Oversee the maintenance of private credit security master and ratings data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Develop, document, and maintain operational procedures and control frameworks to ensure compliance and efficiency in investment processes.
- Establish measures of operational efficiency, KPIs, and process improvement initiatives to enhance investment operations.
- Oversee the Investments Data Warehouse, ensuring its ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and overall integrity.
- Monitor and analyze data from asset manager feeds, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Validate data accuracy from Clearwater and the Data Warehouse, conducting regular reconciliation and validation checks to maintain financial integrity.
- Leverage new automation tools, AI, or workflow enhancements to improve current manual processes.
- Support End Business Users on the production and maintenance of recurring reporting deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal risk controls, proactively identifying and addressing operational risks.
- Oversee portfolio compliance monitoring to ensure adherence to investment guidelines outlined in reinsurance treaties.
- Act as the primary liaison between Investment Operations and internal/external stakeholders, facilitating seamless communication and issue resolution across teams.
What You Will Have:
- 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of industry standards and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Self-motivated and proactive individual with the ability to work independently and take initiative on projects with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced in MS Excel & PowerPoint).
- Proficient in coding language (i.e., SQL, Python).
- Familiarity with Bloomberg and Clearwater, or equivalent trading and accounting platforms.
- Effective communicator, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills a must, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Familiarity with private credit/equity instruments.
- Understanding of asset management middle/back-office functions, including but not limited to trade settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
Base Salary Range: $195,000 USD - $230,000 USD
