Business Technology Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Technology Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional with a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience in Agile project implementation. The analyst will collaborate with clients, document requirements, and bridge the gap between technical and business teams. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of California State Government processes and expertise in managing paper and electronic document workflows.

WORKSITE: Sacramento, CA - Hybrid (Weekly onsite meetings)

WORK SCHEDULE: Business hours, Monday-Friday

PAY RATE: $52/hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Project Execution & Methodologies

• Apply the principles of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for successful project delivery.

• Participate in Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Client Engagement & Requirement Gathering

• Lead and participate in discovery sessions with clients to understand and document business needs.

• Develop clear and comprehensive functional and technical specifications.

• Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria to guide the development process.

Team Collaboration & Support

• Serve as a liaison between the business and technical teams, clarifying functionality as needed.

• Review and validate testing scripts to ensure comprehensive test coverage of business functionality.

Documentation & Tools

• Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Draw.IO, JIRA, and Confluence for documentation and process tracking.

• Assist in business process modeling and improvement initiatives.

Domain Expertise

• Leverage understanding of California State Government processes, particularly related to paper and electronic document handling, to provide insights and drive relevant solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or similar role in technology, cloud, and Agile project implementations.

• Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Draw.IO, JIRA, and Confluence.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Experience managing multiple tasks and priorities in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with government agencies or public sector clients.

• Familiarity with California State Government processes and workflows related to paper and electronic document handling.

• Experience with business process modeling and optimization.
