We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Okta Engineer (SSO/IAM) to support the implementation and operational support of secure identity and access management systems. This role requires deep expertise with Okta, SSO, Zero Trust, and a variety of authentication protocols. The position is W2 only and U.S. Citizenship is required.
WORKSITE: Onsite, Luray, VA; remote work possible after initial period
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, standard business hours

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
-
Engineer, implement, and provide operational support for Okta SSO solutions
-
Migrate applications to integrate with Okta using SAML, OAuth, OIDC, OpenID, and REST APIs
-
Provide proof of concepts and pilots to support Zero Trust architecture
-
Integrate and manage Multi-Factor Authentication and Password-less Authentication solutions

Troubleshoot advanced issues using SAML Tracer, Fiddler, and similar tools

Provide operational support for Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online hybrid, Intune, Entra ID, Teams, OneDrive)

Administer and manage Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and MS SQL environments

Document and control all Group Policy Management (GPM) changes

Lead engineering projects from start to finish, including collaboration with cross-functional teams

Measure, monitor, and report metrics to stakeholders and leadership

Escalate complex issues to vendors or third-party partners as needed

Support technical leads with documentation, change tracking, and systems maintenance

Manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring deliverables and resource alignment

Participate in meetings with executives to present technical solutions and updates

Adapt to a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with trust, initiative, and problem-solving ability
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Required Qualifications:

10 years of overall IT experience
-
3 years of direct Okta engineering and support experience

Hands-on experience with application migration to Okta and implementation of Zero Trust

Proficiency with IAM protocols: SAML, SPML, XACML, SCIM, OAuth, OIDC, OpenID, REST APIs

Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Server experience

Deep understanding of SSO, directories, federation, API gateways, and delegated administration

Proven experience leading engineering projects from concept through completion

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational and project management capabilities
Preferred Skills:

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud

Familiarity with business continuity and disaster recovery concepts

Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and adapt to change
