The Senior QA Specialist is a leadership position focused on maintaining and enhancing the quality of medical disability examinations (MDE). This role requires prior experience in MDE, preferably with a background in Compensation & Pension processes or at the MDEO Medical Disability Examination Quality Suboffice. The Senior QA Specialist will oversee quality assurance processes, develop and deliver training programs, and recommend process improvements to optimize efficiency. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with IT teams for technological enhancements and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, leadership experience, and a commitment to upholding high standards of examination quality.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :
Review and optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies to increase examiner quality, reduce cycle time, and improve examiner support.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures as applicable.Adhere to published schedules according to attendance guidelines.May be required to work weekends and holidays as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Lead quality assurance efforts for medical disability examinations, ensuring compliance with established standards.Develop and deliver training programs for examiners, focusing on best practices and quality standards.Assess current examination processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce burden times.Work with IT teams to identify and implement technological solutions that improve examination processes.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Maintain detailed records of quality assurance activities and prepare reports for management.Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality examination services, including medical professionals, administrative staff, and external vendors.WHAT YOU'LL BRING : Education :
Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.High school diploma or GED required.Experience :
At least 3 years of experience in the medical field (e.g., as a Scribe, Military Corpsman / Medic, or Certified Medical Assistant); ORAt least 5 years of relevant professional experience as a Quality Analyst in a healthcare setting.Skills and Abilities :

Nurse Practitioner : Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.Physician Assistant : Master's degree from an accredited PA program.Experience :
Minimum of 2 years (or equivalent hours) of experience conducting medical disability examinations.Six months of supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.Skills and Abilities :
