What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe position at FORTUNA FAMILY MEDICINE INC?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Taking accurate notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health records system
- Documenting accurate electronical medical histories
- At the direction of the provider, documenting physical exam findings, ICD 10 codes and plan
- Assist provider in submitting and completing paperwork such as: labs, imaging, referrals, etc.
- Checks patients into exam room and takes vitals, as needed
- Learning about the medical process and using a team approach in patient supervision and documentation
- Working with a provider to complete and submit medical records
- Engaging with patients and providers professionally
- Help providers complete all administrative tasks efficiently
- Assisting with keeping provider on schedule for appointment flow
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to expertly document patient care and transcribe patient appointments
- Advanced computer skills
- Confidentiality and privacy of the patients
- Strong organization, multitasking and time management skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good bedside manner and quality listening skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:
- A high school graduate or equivalent desired, but not required
- California driver’s license
- 1 year of medical field experience desired, but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
