Position Summary:
Meet, greet, and seat all guests with a positive, friendly, helpful attitude and is a serve as a source of information to all guests entering the Sunset Steakhouse. Exudes pride and passion. Assist in all areas of Host Stand Operations to help ensure a high-quality guest experience.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
The Sunset Steakhouse Host is responsible for the following duties:
- Greeting guests as they enter and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.
- Answering phone calls, taking reservations, and answering questions.
- Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
- Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
- Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
- Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
- Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
- Maintaining knowledge of Sunset Steakhouse menu.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Warmly greet guests into the restaurant.
- Proactively support the restaurant team while monitoring dining room activity.
- Collaborate with team members to communicate any special needs or guest requests.
- Utilize the freedom to go beyond and take initiative to resolve guest complaints and create loyalty.
- Maintain an organized host stand or work area.
- Sincerely thank guests leaving the restaurant and invite them to return.

Qualifications – Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- None required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Flexibility with workdays and hours.
- Experience. Previous experience passionately providing service to others preferred.
- Knowledge. Familiarity of restaurant terminology and food service techniques preferred.
- People Person. The best part of serving others is creating experiences for them that go beyond the expected.
- Great communicator. Providing amazing experiences requires the ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and through legible writing.
Work Environment:
The work environment is fast-paced and requires overall good mental and physical health.
Physical Demands:
Job-specific abilities and requirements include:
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate China and glassware up to 50 lbs.
Must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended periods of time.
This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
The ability to tolerate various scents, noises, and bright lights is required.
