Job Description
The Continuous Improvement Manager will have the opportunity to:
- Develop and deliver continuous improvement training and activities for external customers in the United States and Canada who are interested in growing a culture within Operational and Business excellence.
- Serve as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) on all aspects of Lean and Continuous improvement, with emphasis on rudimentary tools like 5-6S, Visual Factory Management, Standard Work, Data Collection, and people development for our external customers.
- Focus of the role is in leading the development / improvement of sustainment of customers’ metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth.
Location: This position is eligible for a remote schedule. Candidates must live within the Eastern half of the United States, ideally within driving distance of a major airport.
Travel Requirements: Candidates must be available to travel domestically up to 50%
What you will be doing:
- Partner with Technical & Field Sales in managing an annual continuous improvement plan by branch which outlines all projects needed to deliver on the company’s strategic initiatives and execute the projects to drive business results.
- Develop customer focused training, tools and techniques to help increase their capacity, be more effective in their capabilities, increase employees’ competencies and be more consistent in the quality of the products they produce.
- Help establish and coach our customers on managing a formal process for soliciting improvement ideas and feedback from employees.
- Lead and develop a project plan with each identified strategic partner engaged in Continuous Improvement.
- Drive metric improvements though cultural and operational engagements.
Qualifications
- 5 years experience in the building trades, with an emphasis on entry products
- Ability to coach, mentor, and influence customers at all levels within their organization who are out of your direct circle of influence
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer relationship skills
- A drive and determination to improve processes and training skills
- Handle multiple priorities and balance the needs of each according to business impact
- Experience using Continuous Improvement methodologies ( Lean or 6 Sigma)

- Experience using monday.com or other project management platforms
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $81,000 USD - $124,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
