Job Description

As the Director, Channel Marketing - Wholesale, you will proactively guide the strategy and execution of our marketing and merchandising efforts at our wholesale channel partners, to help the Outdoors Business Unit outperform the market and deliver our joint financial targets with our partners. You will oversee the wholesale channel team’s efforts across multiple brands, managing relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders to develop strategic marketing plans tailored to each business's needs. You will collaborate, orchestrate and drive alignment with cross-functional teams including our Marketing COE, Sales, Category Management, eCommerce, Finance, and Ops to ensure unified execution and a cohesive experience for all stakeholders (both external and internal). 

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business, and (8 ) years experience marketing products in Wholesale Channels), with demonstrated experience in critical and innovative thinking across multiple brands & channels.

This is a hybrid designated role, which includes working 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in Deerfield office and you must be able to travel at least 30% of the time for customer visits, and various office site visits.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Develop comprehensive channel marketing strategies aligned with business goals, identifying key markets, segments, and channels for growth.
  • Design and execute channel marketing programs, promotions, and campaigns to drive demand generation and sales adaptation.
  • Partner with sales, category management, digital/eBusiness, commercialization and brand development in the areas of:
    • Growth initiatives.
    • Program development and implementation.
    • Research including competitive insights and recommendations.
    • Presentations and training delivery on new and existing products.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, using data to inform future marketing strategies.
  • Manage and guide strategy through execution, leveraging data insights to enhance strategies and stay updated on industry best practices.
  • Enable channel partners through training, education, and marketing collateral, ensuring they have the necessary resources to drive sales success.
  • Build and retain strong relationships with channel partners, distributors, and key stakeholders, addressing their needs and feedback.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, refining channel strategies for maximum impact.
  • Manage the wholesale channel marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, product/channel management, and other internal teams to ensure alignment of channel marketing efforts with overall go-to-market strategies.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business field required.
  • 9 years’ experience in the building products industry with progressive levels of responsibility in a marketing, and/or sales background in Channel Marketing.
  • 5 years people leadership experience, 2 years of managing leaders of people.
  • Must have strategic channel marketing management experience.
  • Background in both B2C and B2B (channel) marketing.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale channel and channel dynamics.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and timelines.
  • Strong capabilities in tactical marketing and execution required.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong analysis skills, including ability to arrive at insights from data.
  • Strong aptitude for data and reporting. Familiar with and embrace tools of the trade including Tableau or similar BI platforms. (i.e., Adobe reporting, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player with skills to guide/participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP).
  • Able to travel 30% as needed to offices and customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Prior consumer/durable goods experience.
  • Experience with Project Management and Marketing Production.
  • Creative and strategic mindset that works well in fast-paced cross-functional team environments.

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $140,000 USD - $220,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.  In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
