Job Description
The Strategy Analyst’s primary function is helping to set the corporation’s strategic direction, in partnership with senior leadership. The scope of the role includes high impact strategy, acquisition, and divestiture-related initiatives. This Strategy Analyst will support the members of the Strategy team and key corporate, functional, and division leaders to identify, evaluate, and pursue global growth opportunities that enhance shareholder value.
POSITION LOCATION: This position is a hybrid schedule based in Deerfield, IL. (On-site Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
- Work collaboratively with the Strategy and M&A team, and members of the Business Units to support a range of strategic initiatives. Initiatives span a variety of areas, including BU growth strategies and strategic planning, as well as FBIN corporate strategy and enterprise initiatives.
- Work both independently and collaboratively on strategic projects and initiatives. Scope, plan and conduct underlying analysis that will yield meaningful insights.
- Support and at times lead analysis on new product categories; understand the dynamics of these markets, analyze existing players, and assess alternative market entry strategies.
- Support evaluation of potential acquisition opportunities. Conduct primary and secondary research on target companies and their markets, channels, and competitors; analyze the target company’s value proposition, competitive position, and financial performance to assess opportunities to create value post-acquisition.
- Support and lead special projects as assigned which may include monitoring industry trends, channel evolution analysis, market forecasts, capital budgeting, etc.
Qualifications
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to work independently and as a team member under deadline pressures; set priorities; multitask and respond to changing demands from multiple sources.
- Strong verbal and written skills as well as the ability to effectively present financial data to senior management and business partners.
- Robust analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills with a deadline driven focus.
- Exhibit intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, critical and independent thinking skills, and motivation to learn.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, other relevant field, or equivalent.
- Internship or early career experience in finance or a strategy/corporate development role preferred
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $63,000 USD - $95,700 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
