Summary of Position: The Warehouse Sanitation Associate is responsible for performing a range of general warehouse tasks, including loading, unloading, stock, inventory, labeling, receiving, and sanitation. The Warehouse Sanitation Associate contributes to the efficiency of the warehouse production by ensuring high safety and sanitation standards are always maintained. All can be achieved by working effectively with operation employees and collaborating on appropriate sanitation solutions for the company.
Responsibilities
Adhere to the company’s safety practices at all times.
Maintains cleanliness of overall facility, production area, and equipment. This will include floors, walls, ceilings, removing trash, and disinfecting all equipment as needed.
Followed company policies to ensure food safety and quality. Works to maintain and improve the sanitation process at Fortune.
Adheres to all established GMP procedures and guidelines during the execution of the job.
Will use appropriate cleaning solutions during the sanitation process and instruct others on their proper use.
Maintain recordkeeping practices.
Keeps cleaning supply closet/room orderly and clean at all times.
Monitor and report any potential contamination issues to the Supervisor immediately.
Drives forklift or other motorized equipment to transport items within the plant.
Established and maintained effective working relationships with all Fortune employees.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
Education – High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience – One to two years of related experience in food production and/or sanitation. Seafood experience preferred.
Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time-sensitive deadlines.
Accuracy – Demonstrated ability to accurately pack product in a timely fashion. The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
Language – Basic English speaking and writing proficiency.
Mathematical – Ability to perform basic arithmetic tasks: adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying.
Environmental: Willingness to work in a cold climate or cold storage of 35º or below 0º.
