Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals in their homes. As a Caregiver, you will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, managing medications, and providing emotional support to our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care and support, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with light housekeeping and meal preparation as needed
- Manage medications and administer injections or treatments under the supervision of a healthcare professional
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Engage in activities and conversations with clients to help them maintain social and cognitive skills
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients and their families
- Document patient care and any changes in their condition
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement personalized care plans
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Provide care and support to clients with dementia and other cognitive disorders
- Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance caregiving skills
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
- Perform CPR and other emergency procedures as needed
Requirements:
- Experience in patient care or a related field, preferably in senior care or home health
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPR certification required
- Ability to lift and transfer patients as needed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or dementia
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
