Photo Editor, News and Enterprise

Fortune is seeking a talented photo editor to helm the news photo desk. The photo editor in this position will support Fortune’s news desk, finding journalistically appropriate and visually impactful images. They will also create photo-illustrations for short-form news stories, and have some responsibility for assigning original photography for digital features.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to hourly/daily photo requests from editors and reporters, including non-Getty Images research; design and create fast photo-illustrations for some breaking news
• Create unique, on-brand conceptual photo-illustrations for longer-term feature assignments.
• Assign original photography and research for short-form news stories.
• Create unique images for daily and weekly newsletters and special columns imagery as needed.
  
  

Your experience:

• 3-5 years working in a newsroom researching images for breaking news.
• Excellent research and investigative news skills/experience.
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Can conceive and create photo-illustrations for complex and/or non-visual stories.

Location: This role will be based in NYC. There will be a minimum of 4 days/week in the office.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000. This range is a good faith estimate and may ultimately vary based on a number of relevant factors.
