What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meteorologist position at Forum Communications Company?
NewsCenter1/KNBN-TV is looking for a Full-Time Meteorologist to join our weather team. You will be responsible for forecasting and presenting live weather forecasts on our digital, mobile, and broadcast platforms. You will also contribute to weekend newscasts and daily news by reporting on general news content. The successful candidate will be comfortable handling all news situations including reporting, forecasting, severe weather reporting from the field and/or in studio.
The Black Hills of South Dakota create one of the most dynamic weather environments in the entire nation. The weather in Southern Hills can be radically different from the weather in the Central Hills, which in turn can be radically different from the Northern Hills. We track weather all over the states of South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana in one of the most exciting climates – from tornados to blizzards to flooding, you will cover it all in the Upper Midwest! We use The Weather Company's Max system. We also have a network of cameras throughout the region to assist in forecasting.
We are looking for a person who enjoys tracking storms in all seasons, is a good communicator and wants to join a station dedicated to covering the weather as it happens.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or related field required; degree in Broadcast Meteorology highly desired.
- Knowledge of The Weather Company Max system desired.
- Active social media presence on multiple platforms.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
- Works well both collaboratively and independently.

Expected compensation for this role starts at $20.44/hour, based on qualifications and experience.
