Summary:
The Hydraulic Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing hydraulic systems and components. This role requires a strong understanding of hydraulic systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics. Experience in laying out and making hydraulic hoses, as well as laying out and bending hydraulic tubing, is preferred.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Read and understand hydraulic schematics to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hydraulic equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Lay out and make hydraulic hoses according to specifications.
- Lay out and bend hydraulic tubing.
- Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic components, including pumps, valves, and cylinders.
- Ensure all hydraulic work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to support overall operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all hydraulic work performed, including maintenance logs and repair reports.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of system upgrades and improvements.
- Respond to emergency hydraulic issues promptly and efficiently.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
- Perform mechanical tasks as required.
Skills/Knowledge
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of hydraulic systems and component functions.
- Proficient in reading and understanding hydraulic schematics.
- Experience in laying out and making hydraulic hoses.
- Experience in laying out and bending hydraulic tubing.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Mechanical experience.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in hydraulic technology or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a hydraulic technician.
