JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly qualified engineer to collaborate with the Global engineering team and sales staff in supporting the sales efforts of Global Tubing products worldwide. The primary objective is to enhance the value of GT products by optimizing the performance and application of coiled tubing products for the oil and gas industry. This role will integrate engineering, technical sales, and product support to ensure that coiled tubing solutions meet customer needs while improving market competitiveness.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in mechanical engineering, specializing in coiled tubing interventions and performance optimization. Additionally, they will provide technical sales support, marketing insights, and product recommendations to customers involved in well intervention, drilling, and completion operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate on the engineering and optimization of product designs to meet specific customer requirements, focusing particularly on the optimization of SMARTaper™ and its derivative products.
- Engage with Global Tubing customers and clients to collect operational and performance data, and work alongside marketing staff to develop technical marketing initiatives and campaigns aimed at introducing products to existing, new, and prospective customers.
- Develop technical articles and presentations for internal stakeholders, external clients, customers, vendors, trade press, and trade organizations.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the utilization, performance, and applications of Global Tubing's new products through research, modeling, customer discussions, and testing.
- Promote Global Tubing products by increasing technical awareness among customers.
- Support outside sales teams with technical presentations to customers and address technical field inquiries.
- Assist in developing fatigue modeling as needed.
- Provide support to the Engineering department for product failure analysis.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to develop innovative coiled tubing solutions, including new materials, coatings, and manufacturing techniques.
- Offer technical sales support by assisting customers with coiled tubing selection, performance evaluation, and application troubleshooting.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers, highlighting product capabilities and benefits.
- Work closely with sales teams to respond to RFQs, develop proposals, and recommend customized coiled tubing solutions.
- Support customer qualification processes, including product testing, validation, and performance demonstrations.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create technical brochures, whitepapers, case studies, and product bulletins.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and new opportunities for coiled tubing applications.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical workshops to showcase product innovations.
- Provide on-site technical support to customers for coiled tubing deployment, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
- Gather customer feedback on product performance and recommend design improvements.
- Train customers and internal teams on the proper selection and usage of coiled tubing products.
- Maintain technical documentation, test reports, and engineering specifications.
- Assist in quality control processes, collaborating with manufacturing teams to uphold high product standards.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Support and attend trade shows and technical forums.
- Participate in relevant technical and sales training opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in oil and gas coiled tubing intervention and technical sales.
- Experience with material selection, fatigue analysis, and mechanical properties of coiled tubing.
- Knowledge of coiled tubing applications in well intervention, hydraulic fracturing, and drilling operations.
- Familiarity with coiled tubing manufacturing processes, including welding, heat treatment, and quality control.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in tubing force analysis and stress analysis simulators (e.g., Cerberus, IDEX).
- Knowledge of API standards (API 5ST, API 16ST) for coiled tubing.
- Experience with data analysis and performance modeling for coiled tubing applications.
- Experience in technical sales or business development in the oil and gas sector.
- Familiarity with downhole tool design, well intervention techniques, and hydraulic fracturing operations.
