NEAR - Seasonal Tax Senior Associate

Forvis Mazars Next Evolution of Accounting Resourcefulness (NEAR), is comprised of team members who provide centralized services for the firm's assurance, tax and advisory practices. The NEAR team supports the firm by performing tasks that are generally lower risk, repetitive, and sometimes administrative in nature. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with team members across the firm and they will focus on productivity and innovative solutions to deliver quality work products to our teams. Through NEAR, team members are trained and developed to continually take on more meaningful work and provided opportunities to continue advancing their careers and required educational credentials.

As a seasonal position, this position has flexible hours as mutually agreed upon by Forvis Mazars. We ask for a commitment of at least 20 hours per week, but 40 hours or more would be preferred. This is a fully remote work opportunity.

How you will contribute:

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for augmenting Forvis Mazars tax engagement teams in applying tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles to prepare individual and trust tax returns while delivering outstanding internal client service.

• Prepare individual and trust returns
• International and state tax return experience a plus
• Learn/use Forvis Mazars tax technology applications through on-the-job training
• Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all Forvis Mazars procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 year or more of tax accounting, preferably with in a large public accounting environment
• Prior experience with seasonal work a plus
• BS in Accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

• GoSystem and SurePrep experience
• CCH Axcess experience acceptable.
• CPA or EA certification
