Job Summary
The CNA will provide direct patient care and services in the assigned unit. They will monitor patients throughout the shift and report any emergencies to physicians promptly. The CNA will address patient complaints in a timely fashion to ensure patient satisfaction and serve as a resource in interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care. They will report medical supply and equipment needs to Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Grooming and bathing patients.
- Preparing each patient room with necessary items like blankets, pillows, medical equipment and bathroom needs.
- Assisting with meal service and eating meals. Documentation of intake.
- Monitoring vitals and patient behavior and reporting them to the nursing and medical staff.
- Assisting patients with mobility needs, transferring them from wheelchair to bed.
- Turning or adjusting patients in bed to prevent bedsores or other discomfort.
- Exercising, ROM exercises.
Requirements
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification.
- Ability to follow the bylaws of certification and operate within the scope of practice under the nurse aide registry.
- Professional conduct at all times while at client partner facilities and/or hospitals.
- Timely reporting to all shifts and completion of all tasks.
- Effective communication skills to report any issues or challenges arising during the shift to the facility house supervisor or nursing leader immediately.
