Position : Power BI DeveloperJob Description : Forward Air is seeking a Power BI Developer who will take a leadership role in developing and managing complex data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure data models are optimized for performance, scalability, and accuracy. This role is crucial in advancing our business intelligence capabilities and enabling key stakeholders to make informed decisions based on reliable data insights.Core Responsibilities & Duties : Advanced Report Development : Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex Power BI reports and dashboards, incorporating rate calculations and performance optimization techniquesStrategic Data Integration : Collaborate closely with internal data engineers and architects to integrate, transform, and optimize data from multiple sources, ensuring high accuracy, security, and performanceData Modeling : Develop and optimize data models that drive efficient, scalable reporting and analysis, including handling large and complex datasets across the organizationStakeholder Management : Work with Business stakeholders, including department heads and executive leadership, to gather requirements, deliver insights, and propose BI solutions that align with strategic business objectivesPerformance Optimization : Continuously monitor and refine reports and dashboards to improve speed and user experience, identifying and resolving bottlenecksDocumentation and Best Practices : Establish and maintain clear documentation for BI processes, data models, and reporting standards, driving adherence to best practices and compliance with industry regulationsContinuous Improvement : Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and techniques in data visualization and analytics, proposing and implementing enhancements to the organization’s BI capabilitiesOther duties as assignedQualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field5 years of experience in Power BI development, data visualization, and business intelligence, with proven success in delivering advanced analytical solutions in a complex environment, preferably in a transportation or logistics environment2 years of hands-on experience with Python and SQL, including writing SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulationProfessional experience with Project Jupyter, Panda, and DBeaver preferredExperience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing conceptsStrong command of data visualization, modeling, and transformation techniquesAbility to work with large datasets efficientlyProven ability to lead BI projects from design through delivery including requirements gatheringPrior experience in Pricing Analytics and Transportation, or Logistics is preferredOther duties as assignedSkills : Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and manipulationIdeal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethicMust be a self-starter that does not require constant directionStrong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and problem-solving skills with ability to communicate effectively across all levels of operations / usersForward Air is an Equal Opportunity Employer.#INDAbout UsAbout the Team
