Forward Bank has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Underwriter to join our growing team of Mortgage professionals at our headquarters in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The Mortgage Underwriter collaborates with Mortgage Lenders, Processors and Quality Control to ensure a positive customer experience while building a compliant and complete loan file.
Key Responsibilities
- Review mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with bank policies
- Examine loan documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Analyze loan applicant’s financial status, credit and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting a loan
- Prepare underwriting approval conditions list for lenders, and clears conditions as they’ve been addressed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field. Additional training in real estate is preferred.
- Two to three years of experience with loan underwriting is preferred.
- High level of analytical and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude with superior interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
