FORWARD SERVICE CORPORATION (FSC) UPWARD BOUND PROGRAMS
Upward Bound Summer Program
A three-week position supervising and mentoring high school students, plus two in-service/training days.
Working days will be as follows:
- Training (June 10-11): Full-day training at Ripon College (overnight accommodations provided)
- (July 7-11): Staff will live on campus at Ripon College and supervise students
- (July 14-18): Staff will live on campus at Ripon College and supervise students
- (July 21-24): Trip to various locations and campuses. Staff will stay overnight in hotels on the route and supervise students during the trip
Compensation:
- Total of $2,400 plus an additional $100 for each returning year. Maximum pay of $2,900.

What you get to do:
- Participate in training and CPR
- Supervise, guide, tutor, and mentor students
- Supervise recreation, program activities and meals
- Assist in the development and implementation of activities in the residence unit
- Chaperone field trips
What a typical day looks like M-Th:
- Gather with students for breakfast
- AM off duty
- Meet up with students and staff, already in AM sessions, at approx. 11:00 am
- Lunch – Supervision and monitoring
- Supervise, guide, tutor, and mentor students during afternoon sessions
- Dinner – Supervision and monitoring
- Supervise recreation options
- Evening wind-down and bed checks
- Night duty rotation
- *Fridays we visit campuses so on-duty in the AM until students bus home
- Final week – Trip Week. On Duty throughout the day but only responsible for supervision.
Qualifications:
- As of June 2025, must be at least sophomore status with at least one year of experience at a postsecondary education institution with a GPA of at least 2.75
- Have a high level of maturity, adaptability, ability to work on a team, self-disciplined
- Have familiarity with and sensitivity to the needs of adolescents
- Have strong leadership skills, highly accountable, and be reliable
- Can work with minimal supervision
- Hold a valid driver’s license
